New party starting up in Sactown! TEKNICAL focused on bringing you the underground sounds of Minimal, TechHouse, & Techno. For our first party we bring you a Duo "Black Boxx" which is Paul Leath & Emma Jean from the Bay Area. Also rocking the decks is Haitham, David Alexander, & Jesse James.
A little history on Paul Leath & Emma Jean "Black Boxx"
Paul Leath has taken on several roles with his involvement in the electronic community, promoter, agent, manager and record distribution. During this entire span, always producing and deejaying. New projects currently involve the developement and expansion of El Otro Mundo Productions. The "umbrella" of every project that involves members of the collective. El Otro Mundo Recordings is the original label from El Otro Mundo Productions started by his brother, Christopher aka El Gato. Friction Recordings is a sub label created by Paul,focusing on the driving aspects of techno and house. The concept of Friction is used in our design and production. It is part of this world that stimulates while keeping us "grounded".
Emma Jean is a Bay Area local and pure techno-head. With a young yet lusterous yearn for darker and heavy sounds, Emma Jean quickly developed a uniquely deviant ear for techno, thus investing herself astray from categorical norms of age and gender. Artistically born and developed by the Bay Area techno brothers, Leathal (Christopher and Paul Leath), Emma Jean refined an affinity for underground influences as well as an devote monogamy to vinyl.The combine forces to become Black Boxx, a high energy sonic beatdown of relentless groovin' dancefloor techno. They formed as a duo opening for Radio Slave @ Monarch SF in early 2016 and it's been a great match ever since. Emma Jean's fusion of energy with Paul Leath's years of experience on DJ stages all over the world form a great combination.
